715 Residential properties are privately owned with approximately 500 homes completed. Miles of shoreline and a series of interconnected ponds and lagoons create an impressive array of waterfront properties.
An integral Members Club provides a rich set of amenities including a club complex including an impressive Clubhouse, 27-Hole Tom Fazio Golf course, 6 Har-Tru (clay) tennis courts, a new fitness center, and pool, all overlooking the marsh.
Our Island Paradise
Since 1982, Callawassie Island has been a get away with a pool, 2 community docks with daily or leased access, and a place to “wine down” and watch the sunset. Many arrive in their golf carts, lounge by the pools and take a stroll down the dock to see the dolphins up close. This is why many residents think of Callawassie Island as their own personal paradise. A new River Club overlooking the Colleton River will provide casual dining.
One with Nature
Callawassie Island was the first certified Wildlife Habitat in SC (2006), with over 225 homes recognized as backyard habitats. A wide range of birds, reptiles, and mammals share their Island with us, including bald eagles and woodstorks, alligators and fox. Many folks have blue bird houses atop poles in their back yard.
